A a picture that was one of the first to incorporate custom built sets, and is sometimes credited with being the first narrative feature film. After its first highly successful run on Broadway (there were no movie specific cinemas yet), the film was incorporated into religious services. It's likely that the projection equipment used for the first run was either an Edison "Vitascope" provided by Thomas Edison, or an International Film Company "Projectograph" made my Porter. The window cards were printed by Hennegan Show Print of Cincinnati, and are interesting and rare examples of very early film promotion.
