  • Condition: This original, rolled movie poster display superbly with a very clean, bright, unfettered appearance. The flaws that exist are generally unobtrusive. There are small tears along the bottom right border. There is some bends/ wrinkles at the top right near the border to the right of the words "BLACK" and "LOVE". There is minor wrinkling at the top left side border. There is some rub-off or smudges that comes from the coloring of the poster at (a) top left to the left of the heart (b) red run off on the bottom border in the center (c) red run off on the left side border right below center (d) rub off below center under the word "OKLAHOMO" and (e) rub off to the left of "One Of The True" and above the "C" in "CAST". There is a 2 1/2" thin mark on the top left above the heart. And a few other horizontal marks to the left of the heart. There are tiny darkish dots throughout the poster (production marks). Still, the poster appears clean. Please review the photos carefully.

    This is the Original (1sh) movie poster
    BLACK GOLD.
    It was used by
    Norman studios
    to promote this movie when it was released in 1928.  It is not a reprint nor a reproduction.  The movie stars
    Lawrence Criner, Kathryn Boyd
    , Steve Reynolds, Alfred Norcom, and L.B. Tatums. It was directed by Richard E. Norman.
    This original movie poster is Rolled and measures 27" x 41".
    This unrestored original movie poster is graded C7.5 Very Fine Minus.
    Original movie posters are graded as follows from the top down: C10 (Mint), C9 (Near Mint), C8 (Very Fine), C7 (Fine/Very Fine), C6 (Fine or Very Good), C5 (Good to Very Good), C4 (Good), etc.   This poster is immediately ready for framing and display.  A number of the flaws, all minor, occur along the border areas.  And the few stray marks that are in the image area are relatively faint and require close inspection under bright light to see them clearly.   That said, this poster could be restored and linen backed if you are so interested.  We can do that for you and feel that the cost of restoration would be recaptured in the increase in value of a restored

    original movie poster.  Or we can refer you to one of the two professional restoration companies that we use.
    But, as is, this poster makes a superb appearance and is bright, colorful with spectacular clear images.  The fact that it is rolled is rare for any original movie poster pre-1985, and it eliminates any Fold lines and the possible separation at the cross folds of those Fold lines.
