I have been servicing HK units for a while now and as everyone may know the main issue is locating good volume controls for these units. After many years of back and forth I decided to
re-manufacture
many of  HK volume
controls that were used back in the days. My main goal was to produce a high quality part that is better in comparison to the original volume pot.
I am glad to announce that I succeeded. I am very happy with the result and am sure you will be too!
Here is a new volume control for HK . This is a modern production potentiometer. An exact copy of the original pot, but much better in terms of reliability and quality.
Here is new Volume control with an extention to fit Citation 11 preamp. This is modern production potentiometer.

ere are couple of points why one would be better off buying modern production pot for his/her HK receiver
:
Unmatched potentiometer. If the volume pot is unbalanced one speakers will sound
louder than the other!  The quad volume control has 4 pots that must be matched. By now those original resistors deteriorated and
have unmatched resistance values. Those must be matched because that is what can create unbalance in the sound output levels in speakers.
Now,  e
ven if one, either, fixes the old pot/control or buys used old one (Old stock or NOS), it will not last long due to the above design flows! It is literally a ticking bomb!
All these issues have been addressed in this modern production volume control. I use these controls when restoring customers' HK units with great results.
