WWI MOVIE POSTER!!
Offered here is a spectacular WWI poster issued by Triangle films in 1916 for a film that was made for the benefit of the American Ambulance Field Service. It's one of the first motion pictures depicting actual war footage that was shown to the public. Victor Tardieu rendered the artwork for this spectacular stone litho 3-sheet poster, which measures approximately 41x81 inches, give or take an inch or so. The poster was printed in three separate one-sheet sized pieces and it still remains that way. I shot this picture in the early 2000s with a pretty low-grade digital camera after laying the poster out. It's in
remarkable unrestored original condition
and has been stored folded up in a protective acid-free Mylar sleeve for about four decades now. It was removed and opened one time during that period to take the photo. It'll be shipped in the sleeve. Other than some slight fraying in the upper white border, the poster remains in stupefying condition for a 100+-year-old litho. The poster would present as mint if it were linen-mounted!
