Description
This is a BRAND NEW - GLAMDRING "MUSEUM COLLECTION" SWORD GANDALF- THE LORD OF THE RINGS - UNITED CUTLERY - UC1425. It is in the original wrapping and packaging--opened only for the pictures--and has its number etched into the blade. This SWORD is "# 0375 One of 1000". (Also, the number is with a KEY that unlocks the DISPLAY CASE -- and this key is taped to the BOTTOM of the DISPLAY CASE.) This impressive SWORD is a museum quality replica and is weathered and distressed to reflect the aged look and feel of the original movie props, so any distressed or worn features are correct and not a defect. The blade is tempered and hardened high carbon forged spring steel, hand-forged in Toledo, Spain, and it has a leather- wrapped grip. Each "MUSEUM COLLECTION SWORD" has been recreated to the highest level of detail and craftsmanship using the original movie archive materials and props. The SWORD has never been used or displayed in any way, but has always been sealed and put away (for years) for an investment (always in a smoke-free home). UNITED CUTLERY has been awarded the license to reproduce swords (and other props--knives and staffs) from all the Lord of the Rings films. Hence, this is an OFFICIALLY LICENSED EXACT REPLICA produced by the industry leader in fine movie reproductions--UNITED CUTLERY. They use only the finest grade materials and craftsmanship while carefully managing all details.

UC1425 - "MUSEUM COLLECTION" SWORD GANDALF --- Only a maximum possibility of 1000 ever made, and each is individually numbered (this one is 0375 of 1000). It has a high carbon forged spring steel blade which is stronger than the stainless steel blade of the mass produced sword and would crack the mass produced blade in contact fighting. The SWORD was hand-forged in Toledo, Spain, whereas the mass produced sword was manufactured in Taiwan, Pakistan, or similar places. This "MUSEUM COLLECTION" SWORD totally sold out years ago. The "Museum Collection" SWORD has a VERY dark blue--almost black--leather-wrapped grip handle and the guard is more weathered. The original "Museum Collection" SWORD had either a blue or white Scabbard. (Ours has the WHITE SCABBARD.) The weathered guard of the "MUSEUM" SWORD has a genuine sapphire embedded in the handle. Not sure what the 'stone' is in the mass produced sword. The "MUSEUM COLLECTION" SWORDS originally came with boxes, but QUITE a number DID NOT come with boxes because United Cutlery went through bankruptcy while producing the 1000 SWORDS. (Unfortunately, our SWORD was one of those that did not get a "box" or official certificate of authenticity. However, the official numbering process and description of the SWORD should prove the accuracy and authenticity of our SWORD.) United Cutlery was then bought out by another company which still does produce the best "United Cutlery" products under that name.
UC1265 - Mass produced Sword Gandalf -- This one has a distinctly lighter blue colored handle and a smoother guard. It is readily available at very inexpensive prices. It is NOT and CANNOT BE NUMBERED. (There are probably thousands, if not millions, of these manufactured all over the world.) It has a stainless steel (much weaker) blade and can be made in Taiwan, Pakistan, or other similar places. It will not have a weathered or distressed look. Don't know the type of 'stone' in the handle of this sword. True collectors will be able to tell the difference between the swords!
Good Luck with your bidding!!
